Margarita Glass

The Margarita glass is probably one of the most beautiful cocktail glasses out there.

With an extended rim it can hold enough salt to be the ideal glass for the Margarita, a tequila based cocktail. Fresh lime juice makes it a fresh yet strong cocktail. A number of flavoured alcohols are often added. Cointreau, Patrón Citrónge and Blue Curaçao are just some of them. Blue Curaçao makes it the famous blue Margarita.

The Margarita was invented in 1941 in Ensenada Mexico by Don Carlos Orozco, when he was trying out new mixes whilst working a customer named Margarita Henkel. Carlos let her try the drink and since she was the first one to try it named the drink after her.

The typical Margarita consists of
1 ounce tequila
Dash of Triple Sec
Juice of 1/2 lime or lemon

Often served over crushed ice with a slice of lime and a salty rim and in the beautiful Margarita Glass
